Journey to the West is about four hundred and thirty years old and runs to the better part of a thousand pages. At its heart it is five travellers — a monk, a monkey, a pig, a river spirit and a dragon horse — learning to get along on a very long road. That is worth learning at any age.

We didn't condense it. We wrote new stories inspired by the original: fifty short chapters, each with a single feeling to sit with. Every story exists in twelve languages, and you choose any two to sit side by side on the page — English and 中文, Spanish and Korean, whichever pair you are learning.
