The cast
Who you'll travel with.
Five pilgrims walk the road west, and one small songbird sees them off — and welcomes them home.

Sun Wukong孙悟空
The Monkey King
A small monkey in a yellow cap and blue scarf, a bold red mask across his face. All bounce and no brakes — learning that being mighty means knowing when to be still.

Tang Sanzang唐三藏
The Gentle Monk
A young monk in saffron and crimson robes, with a golden crown and a long string of prayer beads. He leads the journey softly, and shows that patience is its own kind of strength.

Zhu Bajie猪八戒
The Funny Friend
A round, beaming pig in a dark robe and red sash, a golden rake over one shoulder. He loves food and naps in equal measure — and slowly learns that sharing tastes better.

Sha Wujing沙悟净
The Quiet Helper
A bearded traveller in green and violet, prayer beads at his chest, carrying the whole party's luggage on a shoulder pole. He says little and never lets anyone down.

Bai Longma白龙马
The Shy Dragon Horse
A small white horse with a golden mane, red bridle and a tasselled collar. Shy at first and braver than he knows — and it is he who carries Tang Sanzang the whole way west.

Mei Mei美美
The Songbird Friend
A tiny golden bird with rainbow-tipped wings and a flame-orange crest. Wukong's very first friend — there when the journey begins, waiting when it ends.
And plenty more along the road.
